Zookeeper’s Fallacy

Zookeeprs Fallacy is a brand made around a series of 45 symbols that bring awareness to endangered animals. The symbols of these animals have been created in a pixel-art style to show how their species become less recognizable as their communities shrink.

This two-poster series serves to showcase the 45-symbols and the identity around them. The first poster showcase each of the symbols as well as the mission statement, while the second showcases how the animals become more unrecognizable as their populations shrink.

Zookeeper’s Fallacy also exists as a hard cover book to provide more information on the problem of the modern endangerment crisis.

This supplementary book helps further get across the message of the symbols, providing facts and statistics about the modern extinction event. The use of negative space and low-opacity images serves to highlight the vacancy left by these animals extinction.

These symbols depict critically endangered animals in pixel art. The squares of the pixel art represent the sterile and confining nature similar to that of a zoo, and the cropping and obstruction of their forms represents their disappearance.
